It's Not A Nanny State, It's Called Being Able Breathe Properly

In my opinion, plain packaged cigarettes are a good thing to be happening and it's pretty clear to me, that the ones who are campaigning against it are the ones who do smoke.

Why should the rest of us be punished? I don't like walking behind clouds of cigarette smoke and it's not really fair on the rest of us.

The whole campaign of the "Nanny State"is, I think, pretty ridiculous. It's not a matter of being told what to do-it's not stopping people from smoking. The whole point is to make smoking less attractive and smokers the "uncool" ones.

Having recently visited Europe, I must say that it has made me appreciate the work the Australian government has done a whole lot more. Walking around places like Italy and France, smokers are not on the "outside" like they are in Aus. Smoking is more normal there and, something you don't really see in Australia, there are plenty of shops that are simply "Tobacconists" . It was astounding but it made me appreciate everything back home.

Smoking is legal, there is nothing stopping people from smoking. All I'm saying is don't kick up a fuss because it's not going to help anyone. Others become passive smokers, have walk away when you want a ciggie and then be sympathetic when you get sick from it.

I'm not saying don't smoke (well, actually I am) but just don't smoke anywhere near me.
